Students from New Zealand’s OneSchool Global campuses have rallied together to raise over $14,000 for sick kids from New Zealand’s national children’s hospital, Starship.
1500 pupils from 17 campuses across New Zealand held bake sales, wore blue accessories, and brought in gold coin donations to raise money for Starship.
Representing their peers from across the country, OneSchool Global Auckland campus students presented the Starship Foundation’s Kirsty Robinson with the cheque for the $14,569.54 raised.
OneSchool Global Regional Principal, Paul Kennedy, said students raised the money knowing that supporting Starship Child Health will help bring better health and brighter futures to New Zealand children.
“At the core of OneSchool values are care and compassion – so it’s always heart-warming to see our students’ kindness and compassion in action,” he said.
“Our students are very aware how much of a privilege health is and want to ensure all New Zealand kids have access to the health care they need and deserve.”
Starship is New Zealand’s national children’s hospital in Auckland. Opened on 18 November 1991, Starship provides care and treatment for children from across New Zealand.
Krissy Garnham, Head of Individual Giving at the Starship Foundation, says the fundraising efforts of the students and staff at OneSchool Global is incredibly inspiring.
“We are thrilled to receive this generous donation from the OneSchool Global community,” she said.
“On behalf of the tens of thousands of children from all over New Zealand who rely on Starship’s care every year, thank you for your kind support.
“The funds that OneSchool Global has raised, will make a very real impact for Starship children.
“The funds will be invested in impact programs that bring better health and brighter futures to all New Zealand children who need Starship.”
